Sija Kabota
Sija has been involved as a MSc student in the previous RAAC project AGROVEG (2019-2023). He is now participating in one of the PhD programs of ISeBAF in collaboration with the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA, Morogoro, Tanzania) under the supervision of Prof. Maulid Mwatawala.
Sija is a senior tutor in agricultural entomology at the National Sugar Institute. His expertise in fruit fly management includes training and consulting with farmers and extension officers on methods like setting and maintaining tephritid traps and using sanitation practices such as the augmentorium and the push-pull technology. Sija assists and trains bachelor’s and master’s students from SUA in fruit fly identification and ecological data analysis.
