Yuna

My name is Yuna, and over five years of training, I developed a strong passion for science. In 2022, I completed a study on the dispersion and distribution of the melon fruit fly (Zeugodacus cucurbitae) in Mozambique, which showed that the southern zone remains free of this invasive species while the central and northern zones are infested. This research sparked my interest in specializing in plant protection with a focus on fruit flies. I have experience identifying fruit fly species, analysing data, creating distribution maps, and conducting fieldwork beyond Maputo. Recently, I worked as a project assistant at Moza Hydroponic Lda, where I helped develop reports, marketing strategies, and farmer training programs. I see this opportunity as a way to enhance my research skills and contribute to understanding fruit fly distribution in Mozambique. I am committed to taking on this challenge with dedication.
